-WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO WASH AND CARE FOR THE WOODEN PLATES AND CUTTING BOARDS?
We recommend washing the boards and plates with warm soapy water, rinse
thoroughly and wipe dry immediately. Do not soak the boards in water. Store the boards and plates upright so air has a chance to circulate. Once a month, after washing and completely drying the wooden products, oil them with any food grade mineral oil. Rub the oil into the boards and plates allowing time for it to soak into the wood, then wipe any excess oil off with a clean, dry cloth.
-CAN I USE ALL OF THE WOODEN PLATES AS CUTTING BOARDS?
Yes! All of the boards and plates are made to take on your daily use, however you choose. The small and medium plates can easily withstand any of your chopping needs!
-HOW DO I REMOVE STAINS FROM THE WOODEN PRODUCTS?
Our favorite trick for tougher stains that won’t come out with a simple wash, is to create a paste with a bit of lemon juice, baking soda and salt along with a more focused amount of scrubbing in the area that needs attention.
-HOW DO I REMOVE ODORS FROM THE WOODEN BOARDS AND PLATES?
If you notice any of the wooden boards and plates holding onto odor; such as from chopping garlic or onions, then we recommend wiping the boards down with a little bit of white vinegar, just after you have washed and dried the boards thoroughly. The smell from the vinegar will dissipate once it is dry and previous odor will be eliminated.
-WHAT TYPE OF OIL SHOULD I USE ON THE WOODEN BOARDS AND PLATES AND HOW OFTEN SHOULD I OIL THEM?
Food grade mineral oil is the best oil to use. Try to avoid cooking oils like olive oil since they can go rancid over time. We recommend oiling the boards once a month or however often you prefer, based on how frequent the boards are used.
-CAN I PUT THE BOARDS IN THE DISHWASHER?
We recommend that wooden product be hand washed, towel dried and stored upright. Washing wooden product in a dishwasher will lead to warping, splitting and cracking.
-WHAT ARE THESE BOARDS USED FOR?
We enjoy making multi-functional product that allows flexibility in use, dependent on your need! All of the various sized boards and plates can function either as serving trays, cutting boards, plates, or often times, as a “catch-all” tray to keep items tidy!
